The camera's rear 3-inch LCD features 460k dots of resolution and supports touch input, just like the one found on the GF3. The display is fixed, which is makes it less useful than the tilting displays found on the Sony NEX series and the Olympus E-PL3. The fixed display limits you to using the camera at arm's length, like a point-and-shoot, when taking handheld shots. Performance and Conclusions
The GX1 performs quite well in terms of speed. It can start up and grab a shot in 1.1 second, records only a 0.1 second shutter lag, and can rattle off photos with just 0.25 second between shots. Perhaps most impressively, when shooting JPGs, it can keep this 4 frame per second pace for about 62 photos before slowing down. This compares favorably to the Olympus E-PM1, one of the faster Micro Four Thirds that we've previously tested. That camera requires 1.2 seconds to boot and shoot and also manages to grab 4 frames per second. Its shutter lag is slightly longer at 0.2 second.
Sadly, the GX1 and included lens don't quite do as well in terms of pure image quality. I used Imatest to measure its sharpness at the wide, mid-range, and telephoto settings of its 14-42mm zoom lens. At 14mm the lens was only able to resolve 1,552 lines per picture height of sharpness?shy of the 1,800 lines that denotes a sharp photo. It did better at 28mm, recording 1,864 lines, but softened to 1,778 lines at 42mm. The more compact?and more expensive?power zoom version of the 14-42mm actually scored a bit lower in terms of sharpness. It netted 1,676 lines at 14mm, 1,670 lines at 28mm, and 1,485. Olympus also makes Micro Four Thirds cameras, and kit lens included with its latest generation models can grab more than 2,100 lines per picture height at 14mm.
I also ran tests on the GX1 to see how it will perform at higher ISO settings. Increasing a camera's ISO makes the sensor more sensitive to light, so you can manage to grab sharp photos in lower light, but image noise increases as you raise the sensitivity. Like other tested Micro Four Thirds cameras, the GX1 didn't perform spectacularly in this regard. Its images were able to keep image noise just under 1.5 percent through ISO 1600?but at the next setting, ISO 3200, noise shot up to over 2.2 percent. If you want to use the camera at its top ISO setting, 12800, be prepared for some extremely grainy photos?noise at that ISO makes up 3.3 percent of your photos. Some other mirrorless cameras with larger APS-C image sensors, like the Sony Alpha NEX-C3 and Samsung NX200, are able to grab clean images through ISO 6400.
The GX1's video recording capabilities are quite competent. It supports 1080p30 and 720p60 video recording using AVCHD, as well as 1080p30 and 720p30 in MP4 format. Madonna dazzles with slick Super Bowl halftime show (Reuters)
(Reuters) ? Pop superstar Madonna dazzled football fans and more than 100 million television viewers on Sunday when she performed during a glittery, spectacular Super Bowl halftime show.
Madonna, the first female Super Bowl halftime headliner since the notorious Janet Jackson "wardrobe malfunction" of 2004, was carried, Cleopatra-style, into Indianapolis' Lucas Oil Stadium by a cadre of muscled gladiators.
Wearing Egyptian regalia, complete with headdress, and spiked black boots, the pop superstar launched into her seminal hit "Vogue," with lighting and other visual effects contributed by the Canadian performing troupe Cirque du Soleil.
Next came "Music," which included LMFAO, followed by a cheerleader-themed "Give Me All Your Luvin'," from Madonna's latest CD. Madonna was joined by Nicky Minaj and M.I.A., with the latter preferring a fleeting obscene one-fingered gesture on-camera.
In a nod to the sport whose fans she was entertaining, the Material Girl performed much of her act on, or in front of, bleachers, with high school marching bands and drumlines augmenting the show, which lasted about 10 minutes.
After a mini-medley of her hits "Open Your Heart" and "Express Yourself," Madonna closed her act decked out in a Gospel-goth black gown, performing "Like a Prayer" with Cee Lo Green before dropping out of sight in a puff of smoke.
Madonna was not the only pop superstar to grace the high-profile Super Bowl on Sunday, one of U.S. television's most-watched programs: Kelly Clarkson performed the national anthem.
Last year's Super Bowl attracted 111 million U.S. viewers, the largest for a single TV broadcast in the United States.
The halftime show has increasingly featured high-profile pop acts, a far cry from the first Super Bowl in 1967 when college marching bands entertained the crowd.
Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, U2, Prince, Bruce Springsteen, The Black Eyed Peas and Janet Jackson have been among recent performers.
Jackson's 2004 appearance made headlines worldwide with her infamous "wardrobe malfunction," during which fellow performer Justin Timberlake tugged at her costume, exposing her nipple to millions of TV viewers.
Madonna had promised that all efforts were being made to ensure her show would not be marked by a similar episode.
"Great attention to detail has been paid to my wardrobe. There will be no wardrobe malfunction - I promise," she said.
Madonna, who was born in Bay City, Michigan, told reporters last week her appearance was "a Midwesterner girl's dream, to be performing at the Super Bowl halftime show."
"In over 25 years of performing that I've done, I have never worked so hard or been so scrupulous or detail-oriented or freaked out as much as I have."

Boeing checks 787s for carbon fiber delamination

?Boeing is inspecting its newest plane, the 787 Dreamliner for possible repairs to the carbon fiber composite structure of the plane.
The issue involves a problem known as delamination. In laymen terms structural stiffeners, or shims, were not attached to the composite skin properly.?
Over time, this can cause delamination, or damage the carbon fiber composite skin.
Boeing is not releasing many details about the problem or inspections.? In a statement, Boeing said it "..has found that incorrect shimming was performed on support structure on the aft fuselage of some 787s."
The company added, "There is no short-term safety concern. Repairs, should they be needed, will be implemented in the most efficient manner possible."
The problem was discovered within the last couple of weeks.? Boeing will not say how many Dreamliners have been identified as having a problem with their shimming.
Boeing has delivered?five Dreamliners since September of last year, when All Nippon Airways took the inaugural delivery. The 60th Dreamliner is currently on the assembly line at Boeing's plant in Everett, Washington.
While the latest issue is not considered an immediate safety issue for the Dreamliner, it raises more questions about the manufacturing process of the 787. The program has been plagued with problems and costly delays since Boeing launched it in 2004.
Wall Street is watching the 787 program closely as Boeing has set an aggressive schedule for ramping up deliveries of the Dreamliner over the next two years. Boeing currently has a backlog of more than 800 orders for the Dreamliner.

The Experience Pros Radio show started as a one-hour once a week Internet radio show in January 2009, hosted by Digital Buzz Radio. They moved the show to the KLZ airwaves in November 2009 with a 30-minute daily broadcast at 10:30 am. In January 2011, the show changed their time slot to 11:30am, with hopes that broadcasting before the Dave Ramsey Show, their audience would grow. Six weeks later, they partnered with Colorado National Guard, The Growth Curve Institute, and ICOSA Magazine in order to expand to a 2-hour daily time slot.
