Colin Farrell on 'Ellen': I'm Monogamous

Colin Farrell on 'Ellen': I'm Monogamous

Despite being the father of two (from two different relationships), hot Irish actor Colin Farrell has a reputation as a bit of a ladies' man. But on Friday morning's Ellen DeGeneres Show, he admitted (somewhat cautiously) that he is quite "monogamous." Watch a clip from the interview below.

The screaming ladies in Ellen's audience flipped out when he first walked on, perhaps because Farrell and DeGeneres have a history of kissing each other too much when he appears on the show. After joking about how Ellen's wife Portia de Rossi feels about their liplocks, DeGeneres cut to the chase, asking Colin if he's single. "I am but one," he replied. So he's not in a relationship, but is he dating? "I was never much for dating. I was much for a few things, but I kind of usually went decent-ish amount of time."

Things got even more personal when DeGeneres asked the 34-year-old actor -- whose next film is the summer comedy Horrible Bosses (due July 8 and costarring Jason Bateman and a possibly topless Jennifer Aniston) -- if he's a "monogamous" person. Farrell hesitated a bit and then replied, "Yeah?"

DeGeneres laughed and said, "That was a question. That was not an answer."

"I think when I answer yes to something like that, I'm kind of shocked myself that I'm answering yes," Farrell smiled. "That's why it was a question. I'm kind of like, 'Colin do you really believe yourself?'"

Farrell, who is close friends with DeGeneres and has made many appearances on Ellen (including surprising her by crashing her birthday show), seemed relaxed and humorous when answering the personal questions. And when Ellen said that she herself couldn't see dating more than one person at a time, he interjected, "I couldn't! My head would be so wrecked!"
