ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - One family is without a home this holiday weekend after flames ripped through their house on Louisa Street Saturday afternoon. When firefighters arrived at 400 Louisa Street, the home was fully involved and flames were shooting through the window, according to fire officials.
One family lived in the home but they were out of the house and accounted for early on. Firefighters said they knew nobody was inside, which made the process easier.
The fire began on the second floor, near a bedroom, according to Rome Fire Deputy Chief Tom Palinski.
The blaze remains under investigation.
